How much does a cremation urn cost?

Our keepsake urns start at $27.95 and full-size metal urns at $98. Every one is engraved at the lowest cost anywhere, with a free instant preview. Wood urns, handcrafted in the USA, range from $89.95 to $269.95. Shipping is always free, so the price you see is the price you pay.

What size cremation urn do I need?

We keep it simple with three sizes. Individual (about 10" tall) is a full-size urn that holds all of an adult's remains, the same size a funeral home provides, and it comfortably fits virtually everyone. Sharing (about 6" tall) holds a meaningful portion measured in cups, and Keepsake (about 3" tall) holds a small, tablespoon-sized remembrance to keep close. What matters is build, not weight (after cremation what remains is mainly bone), so for an exceptionally tall or large-framed loved one, our roomier wooden urns are the easy choice. See our urn size guide for details.

Does the funeral home have to accept an urn I buy online?

Yes. Under the FTC's Funeral Rule, a funeral home must accept an urn you purchase elsewhere and may not charge a handling fee for doing so. Buying online means more choice and far lower prices than the showroom. See our guide to buying an urn online.

Can I travel on an airplane with an urn?

Yes, with preparation. TSA screens cremated remains, so carry ashes in a container that can be x-rayed. Wood urns generally pass screening easily, while metal urns may not be allowed through as carry-on. Many families transport ashes in a temporary container and transfer them at the destination. Check your airline's policy before you fly.

Do you make urns for pets?

Yes. Memorializing pets is half of what we do. Our pet urns collection includes designs for dogs and cats in every size, each engravable with your pet's name, dates, a paw print and a short sentiment, with the same free preview and free shipping.
