Simply remove the four screws on the underside of the urn to place ashes inside. Four felt feet on the base will protect the urn and surfaces from scratches. This Alder Urn is an endearing tribute to the life of the person you knew and loved.

Carefully lay the urn on it's top. Set into the base you will see four screws. Carefully remove each screw. The base of the urn can then be picked up and carefully set aside. Place the remains and optional mementos inside the urn. Carefully replace the base on the urn and then reinsert the screws. Tighten them until they are tight but there is no need to overtighten them.

Arrived on time, carefully packed, and a nice natural alder. Looked just as nice as the $300 boxes the funeral home was trying to sell us without the engraving. What the photos don't show well is how nice the depth of the engraving is. We were all very impressed with the quality of the construction and the depth / appearance of the engraving. This urn came quickly and we were all so pleased when we took it out of the box. We had gathered to transfer his ashes and have a little memorial celebration. One of the reasons we had ordered this wooden urn was because it said it worked well for larger folks, and it worked so easy to take the bottom off. Now my father sits up on the mantle next to my mothers urn. I feel like I definitely made the right choice.

Beautifully etched logo honoring my husband of 44 years. Building race engines for modified race cars was his retirement hobby. He had untold victories and the urn was a perfect tribute to him and his talent.

My husband was a career mechanic and spent his retirement years building motors for race cars. I used his motto in lieu of name on line above dates, then had his name engraved under the flags. So perfect!! Quality and workmanship on this urn is exceptional.
