Dust to Dust Urns

These dust to dust cremation urns are for those who prefer a short, true statement and no ornament. Featuring the words of Genesis 3:19, the design is available in a plain version or one with a cross to suit a person's view of faith. These aluminum urns come in painted finishes or hand-applied enamel with silver bands, offered in full-size and sharing sizes.

We can engrave a name and dates directly into the surface in two-tone lettering. The line states a plain fact about the body and makes no promise.

This collection is intended for those who lived without unnecessary flourish, valuing a direct truth over ornamentation. It is for the person who knew the book it comes from, or simply knew the line by ear. If your loved one was plain in their views and preferred a short, true statement over elaborate displays, these urns reflect that preference for simplicity.

The inscription is drawn from Genesis 3:19, a verse that serves as a plain statement of what a body is made of and where it ends up. It makes no promise. It states a fact about the body, and a family adds its own faith or leaves it out. For a cremation, the line speaks plainly to what the urn holds.

The line comes in two versions, one plain and one with a cross. A plain line suits a person whose faith was private or perhaps absent, while the version with a cross is for someone whose faith was an active part of how they lived. The painted finish comes in a range of colors, and the hand-applied enamel finish has hand-detailed silver bands. Each piece is completed with a threaded screw-top lid and a felt base.

The collection is offered in two sizes: a full-size urn meant to hold the entire remains of an adult, and a sharing urn designed to hold a portion so that more than one person may keep some. Each urn can also be engraved by us as an option, with the name and dates cut into the surface in two-tone lettering beside the line.

If they were someone who never fussed over words, then this design will read as theirs. The line says what everyone at the service already knew.

Choosing the right size

Every design comes in the same three sizes. Here's how families use each one.

Individual

Full size · Approx. 10" high

Holds all of an adult's remains, the same full-size memorial a funeral home provides. Choosing one urn for one person? This is the one.

Sharing

Mid size · Approx. 6" high

Holds a meaningful portion of the remains, measured in cups, not all of them. Choose this when dividing ashes between households, or keeping some close after scattering the rest.

Keepsake

Pocket size · Approx. 3" high

Holds a small token: a few spoonfuls. A personal remembrance: one for each family member, or something small to keep on a shelf or bedside table.
