Everything about it that is visible says yes. When I took the base off I noticed all the interior edges showed that it was solid wood. It is definitely heavy, it feels solid. The joinery is good too, along with the sanding and finish. Really a solid piece of woodworking.

When I took it to the funeral home they were very impressed. I asked them to what they thought of it and they asked me where I had found it. They noted the quality of the wood used and they must see all kinds. Yes as near as I can tell it is all solid oak.

I called in and I was walked through buying the urn right on the phone. I was emailed a picture of the urn before they started work. Received our urn only 3 days after ordering in New York. Woodworking quality is what you'd expect from any fine woodworking - no corners cut here. Very heavy and well built. Engraving looks good and smelled a bit like burnt wood when we removed from the box but went away quickly. Assumed this was due to the laser engraving which looked even better in person than in photos. Hope to never buy one again but wouldn't hesitate recommending to others.
