Republican Elephant Urns

For many, voting was treated with the same gravity as any other life commitment. It was a matter of showing up for every cycle, regardless of the year. From the high-stakes national elections to the quieter down-ballot races, the act of participating was a fundamental part of their rhythm.

You likely knew someone who approached every duty with that same quiet resolve. They were the ones who never missed an opportunity to have their voice heard, meeting every election day with a sense of purpose that did not require fanfare. Their presence was a constant, as reliable as the seasons.

This collection is designed to honor that kind of steadfastness. Rather than a statement on a single political moment, these pieces recognize a life built on core principles of governance and a commitment to how things should work. The elephant is engraved into the surface of each piece, serving as a symbol of those enduring convictions.

They were people who stood firm, held to their values without the need for theater. Because their character was so consistent, those who loved them always knew exactly where they stood. Their principles were not a temporary reaction to the news, but a lifelong way of moving through the world.

The elephant artwork is available in several forms to suit your needs. You can choose from cast aluminum with a painted finish in various colors, featuring a threaded screw-top lid and a felt base. For those who prefer the Signature wood line, we offer solid walnut or alder. These American-made wood pieces are sealed natural and feature a bottom-loading base. We provide these in full-size, keepsake, and sharing sizes to allow your family to decide how you wish to keep them.

To make the piece truly unique, we can engrave a name and dates directly into the surface using a two-tone finish. This allows the most important details of their journey to become a permanent part of the material. It is a way to mark a life that was defined by its reliability and its unwavering devotion to what they believed was right.

The elephant became the party's symbol through a work of art. Thomas Nast's cartoon "The Third Term Panic," published in Harper's Weekly in 1874, led to the Republican Party officially adopting the elephant. The same pen gave American politics both of its animals, as Nast's 1870 cartoon is the one that forever linked the donkey to the Democrats.

A century and a half later, the elephant remains one of the most recognized symbols in American civic life. It serves as a lasting emblem of the principles you saw them live by every day.
