Fox Urns

This collection of fox cremation urns is for the resourceful and clever, the ones who watched for wildlife at dusk or lived quietly on their own terms. Each cast aluminum piece features an engraved fox or majestic fox design, available in painted finishes or hand-applied enamel with silver bands. Each urn can be personalized with a two-tone engraving of a name and dates. These memorials honor the independent spirit of those who navigated life with wit and grace.

In a family, calling someone a fox is often a compliment to their wits. It describes someone who reads a situation quickly, never quite taken in, and moves through the world without making much noise about it. This collection is for that clever, resourceful person who always found a way through, the one whose sharp mind and quiet movements defined their presence.

Many households have a fox they consider their own, a regular visitor that comes through the same gap at the same hour, its markings known to everyone. For the person who loved wildlife, the beauty was often found in the waiting, sitting for hours by a window or in a hide just to catch a few seconds of movement. This is for the one who understood that the waiting was part of the gift, the observer who found contentment in the quiet moments at dusk.

There is a specific kind of independence found in the fox, a way of managing on their own terms in the middle of everything. It is a way of being that is independent without being cold, and private without being distant. This collection honors those who lived exactly like that, people who stayed true to themselves and did not feel the need to explain their ways to anyone.

The artwork is engraved directly into the cast aluminum, featuring either a fox or a majestic fox design. These pieces are available in a variety of painted finishes or in a hand-applied enamel finish with hand-detailed silver bands. Each urn is finished with a threaded screw-top lid and a felt base to ensure stability.

To make the piece a personal tribute, we offer the option to have a name and dates engraved directly into the surface with a two-tone engraving. Families can choose from full-size, sharing, or keepsake sizes, allowing you to select one piece or several to hold the memory of a loved one.

The red fox has managed something almost no other predator has. It lives across the whole of the northern hemisphere, through most of North America, Europe and Asia and into North Africa, and it is the most widely distributed member of the order Carnivora. By adapting faster than the rest of them, they have done well out of people rather than badly, colonizing suburbs and cities. They live in pairs or small family groups, and young foxes commonly stay on to help raise the next litter.

For a family, the design on the urn is what everybody said about the person, and the one that still comes through the yard.

If the person was clever and patient, then this design will recall exactly who they were to those who knew them. A sibling or a lifelong friend will recognize that same independent spirit in the engraving. The family chooses this design because it reflects the very traits everyone saw in them, much like the familiar fox that still visits the garden at twilight.

Families will look at this design and see the back fence at dusk, picturing them waiting quietly for a glimpse of a regular visitor.

Choosing the right size

Every design comes in the same three sizes. Here's how families use each one.

Individual

Full size · Approx. 10" high

Holds all of an adult's remains, the same full-size memorial a funeral home provides. Choosing one urn for one person? This is the one.

Sharing

Mid size · Approx. 6" high

Holds a meaningful portion of the remains, measured in cups, not all of them. Choose this when dividing ashes between households, or keeping some close after scattering the rest.

Keepsake

Pocket size · Approx. 3" high

Holds a small token: a few spoonfuls. A personal remembrance: one for each family member, or something small to keep on a shelf or bedside table.
