Fairy Urns
This collection of fairy cremation urns is for those who held onto a sense of wonder, from the child to the gardener who left little doors at the foot of a tree. Each cast aluminum urn features an engraved fairy in the moon and comes in full-size, sharing, and keepsake sizes, with options for painted or hand-applied enamel finishes.
We offer two-tone engraving of a name and dates, cut into the surface so they become part of the piece. These urns honor the playful ones and the stories they told.
A garden is often a place of small, hidden wonders, like a ring of toadstools left undisturbed or a miniature door placed at the base of a tree for a grandchild to find. These details are for the person who lived with that same sense of curiosity. It is for the child whose room was always filled with imaginary friends, and for the woman who kept a certain lightness about her even into her nineties. It is for the storyteller who read tales aloud, creating a tradition of wonder that the family carries forward.
Sometimes, a memorial should not be solemn. A fairy sitting in a crescent moon provides a way to honor someone without the weight of something grim. This design is often selected when a more standard, plain memorial would fail to capture the essence of a life lived with joy. It offers a quiet dignity that remains gentle and approachable.
Each piece is cast from aluminum and is finished in various colors or through hand-applied enamel with silver bands. Every urn includes a felt base and a threaded screw-top lid to ensure it sits steadily. They are built to be handled and kept, which is most of what a family wants from a piece like this.
Families may find that one piece is sufficient, or they may prefer to have several, with options available in full-size, sharing, or keepsake sizes. This allows the collection to be shared among many or kept close by a single person.
To make the memorial truly theirs, we can engrave a name and dates directly into the metal. This two-tone engraving becomes a permanent part of the surface, so their name sits on the piece as plainly as the moon and the fairy.
The fairy most people picture is a Victorian one. This style of fairy painting leaned heavily on A Midsummer Night's Dream. While Henry Fuseli and William Blake came before it, Richard Dadd, John Anster Fitzgerald, and Richard Doyle were at its center.
This art form eventually moved into books, finding its conclusion in the illustrations of Arthur Rackham between about 1900 and 1914. This is how the delicate winged figure became the image in everybody's head rather than anything older or stranger. For a family, the design on the urn is the version of the story the person grew up inside, and kept hold of.

If the person you remember lived with a sense of wonder and a certain lightness, then this design will read as theirs. A grandchild or a friend will recognize in it the playfulness that defined them. Families often choose this design because anything solemn would have been the wrong answer for someone who found magic in the small things.
Which piece to bring home is yours to decide, guided by your own memory of who they were. Looking at these pieces, a family sees the person who found the small magic first, at the foot of a tree, at the edge of a garden, or in a story read out loud.
