Ambulance Urns

These ambulance urns are for the paramedic or EMT who spent a career showing up for strangers on their hardest days. Each cast aluminum piece features the ambulance as the central artwork and is available in painted finishes or hand-applied enamel with silver bands. This collection includes full-size, sharing, and keepsake urns, and each may be personalized with a two-tone engraving of a name and dates.

These pieces honor the quiet steadiness of those who found their calling on the road.

Emergency medicine is a calling that leaves a permanent mark on everyone it touches. For those who served for decades, the work meant seeing things that most people will never have to face, yet they continued to show up for every single shift. They understood that the person in the back of the rig deserved everything they had to give.

You saw that dedication in their eyes every time they headed out for a new call. They lived with a commitment to the stranger and the neighbor alike, driven by a sense of duty that never wavered, no matter how difficult the circumstances.

On the scene, these responders were known for their composure. They provided a calm voice during chaos and possessed the steadiness to perform precise work even while inside a moving vehicle.

You might find yourself remembering that specific calmness they brought to a room. Even in the most difficult moments, their presence was a grounding force that helped settle the environment around them.

The imagery of the ambulance honors a life where the work was deeply personal. Each urn is cast aluminum and features the ambulance as the primary artwork. You may select a painted finish in a variety of colors or a hand-applied enamel finish accented with silver bands. Each piece includes a threaded screw-top lid and a felt base.

The ambulance was more than a tool of the trade. It was where they were most authentically themselves. By choosing this symbol, you are honoring the place where their passion and their purpose met.

To accommodate your family's needs, we provide full-size urns, sharing urns, and keepsake urns. We also offer the option to have a name and dates engraved directly into the surface using a two-tone technique.

Whether you choose a single piece to keep or several to distribute among your family, these items are designed to hold their memory close. Having their name and dates cut into the metal makes their identity a permanent part of the piece.

The blue six-pointed star on the side of every ambulance is the Star of Life. It was designed by Leo R. Schwartz of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration after the American Red Cross objected in 1973 to ambulances carrying an orange cross that looked too much like its own emblem. Each of the six points stands for one stage of an emergency response, from detection and reporting through on-scene care, care in transit, and transfer to definitive care. At the center is the Rod of Asclepius, the serpent on the staff, the old sign for medicine and healing.

The person you remember lived inside those six points for a career. By placing the ambulance on an urn, you are placing the whole of that work there with them.

Can't find the right one?

Search by a theme, hobby, or interest, or a size like keepsake, sharing, or individual. We'll help you find the right one.

Choosing the right size

Every design comes in the same three sizes. Here's how families use each one.

Individual

Full size · Approx. 10" high

Holds all of an adult's remains, the same full-size memorial a funeral home provides. Choosing one urn for one person? This is the one.

Sharing

Mid size · Approx. 6" high

Holds a meaningful portion of the remains, measured in cups, not all of them. Choose this when dividing ashes between households, or keeping some close after scattering the rest.

Keepsake

Pocket size · Approx. 3" high

Holds a small token: a few spoonfuls. A personal remembrance: one for each family member, or something small to keep on a shelf or bedside table.
